New Conference Focuses on Investigating Ransomware
ResponderCon takes place Sept 13 in Herndon, VA
June 2, 2022 – BasisTech, developer of Cyber Triage and Autopsy, announces ResponderCon, a new conference dedicated to investigating ransomware. This in-person event for cyber first responders, will take place on Sept. 13, 2022 at The Westin Washington Dulles Airport in Herndon, VA.
BasisTech is the long-time organizer of OSDFCon, a summit focused on open source DFIR tools and their user community. According to Dr. Brian Carrier, CTO at BasisTech, “In lieu of OSDFCon this year, we’ve decided to drill into concepts around the investigation of ransomware. With these attacks on the rise, it’s critical for first responders to know how to approach different ransomware groups and families, and how these investigations differ from other intrusion scenarios.”
ResponderCon is free for U.S. government employees, and at a nominal registration fee for all others. In addition to BasisTech and Cyber Triage, ResponderCon is sponsored by Recorded Future, ReversingLabs and Stratascale.
