New Conference by Basis Technology to Focus on Investigating Ransomware

CyberResponderCon to take place September 13 in Herndon, VA

Tysons Corner, VA. June 2, 2022 – Basis Technology, the developer of digital forensics and incident response (DFIR) products, Cyber Triage and Autopsy, announced a new, one-day conference dedicated to investigating ransomware. CyberResponderCon, an in-person event for cyber first responders, will take place on September 13, 2022 at The Westin Washington Dulles Airport in Herndon, VA.

Basis Technology is the long-time organizer of OSDFCon, a summit focused on open source DFIR tools and their user community. According to Dr. Brian Carrier, CTO at Basis Technology, “In lieu of OSDFCon this year, we’ve decided to drill into concepts around the investigation of ransomware. With these attacks on the rise, it’s critical for first responders to know how to approach different ransomware groups and families, and how these investigations differ from other intrusion scenarios.”

CyberResponderCon will be offered at no charge for U.S. government employees, and at a nominal registration fee for all others. The call for presentations is open until June 10, and the agenda will be published in July.
