Text Analytics
Problem Solving For the Real World
The engineering team is a collection of very smart individuals solving interesting problems. Our text analytics solutions power mission-critical applications, as well as startups pioneering new ways of tackling real-life problems.
A Culture of Curiosity and Learning
Whatever your role, you will be constantly learning and growing as an engineer. Build your knowledge about the characteristics of various languages, machine learning, neural networks, programming for the cloud, and more.
We look for people with solid technical backgrounds, but who want to try new things or find a better way. No matter what you’ve done before, it’s unlikely to be a perfect solution to what is needed. If you are excited by the challenge of getting a vague description of what’s needed, doing research to define the problem and coming up with a solution, then we want to talk to you.
Connecting With Peers
In the past, our engineers have presented at conferences, written well-received papers on new machine learning techniques, or attended conferences to keep abreast of what the larger community is developing.

Cyber Forensics
Making a Difference
It’s not often an engineer sees the impact of their code on users. We do. We serve government customers as well as thousands of active users of open source Autopsy and The Sleuth Kit, whose development we sponsor. In all cases, feedback from users drive our development priorities.
Our examiners and engineers make a difference in national security and intelligence issues every day. We know we are working on features and bug fixes that users really want, because they tell us we make their lives easier.
Learning Together
Our engineers come from many different fields, so we learn as much from each other as our customers. We have a very intelligent crew of folks who are really on the ball, and happy to help each other and learn from one another. Working in the Cyber Forensics group, you learn about the way computers and software work in a fundamental way that is applicable to many areas. We stay abreast of the latest digital forensics developments in our study group.
Made With Pride
We work in an agile software development environment that enables us to be very responsive to customer needs, switching priorities if the situation demands it, but never thrashing. Even in this fast-paced environment, we hold ourselves to writing clean, maintainable and robust code and rigorously testing before integrating new code.
At the Customer Site
Our engineers who are on-site at customer premises also enjoy a friendly and relaxed environment. We are constantly interacting with the customer and our Somerville team. Our on-site team conducts both examinations of high priority digital media derived from mobile devices, and also designs and builds a framework into which users hook their forensic tools. Engineers get exposure to a wide range of use cases and the rare chance to work at an architectural level.
