The dictionaries that RJ uses are the shareware dictionaries,
EDICT, ENAMDICT and KANJIDIC,
of Prof. James
Breen. In order for these dictionaries to be used with RJ,
they first must be processed into the format that RJ expects.
Download WAEI.DCT (approx. 6.8MB)
- Download the ZIP file waei.zip.
- Save the file to a directory on your machine.
- Unzip the file waei.zip.

Add an additional dictionary
The following dictionaries have been created by various sources and are redistributed freely here, with permission. Please be sure to read the copyright notices included in each ZIP file.
The files have been processed so that they may be easily integrated with RJ. Alternately, you may obtain, process and integrate a file yourself by transferring the file from Prof. James Breen's pub/nihongo ftp site, processing the file according to the RJ Help instructions, and adding the DCT file to the list in the RJ Configurator.
Instructions:
- Transfer one of the files below by clicking on the link
- Unzip the file
- (Read the copyright notice)
- Place the DCT file in an appropriate directory (typically, the same directory as WAEI.DCT)
- Open RJ, go to the Configurator (Options menu), select the "Dictionaries" tab
- Type a semi-colon (;) after the last entry in the "Pathnames of Japanese-to-English Dictionaries" box and
- Enter the path of the additional dictionary
