BASIS TECHNOLOGY NAMED ONE OF NEW ENGLANDS FASTEST-GROWING TECHNOLOGY COMPANIES
Cambridge, MA, August 14, 2000—Basis Technology has been recognized as part of the elite New England Technology Fast 50 for 2000, a ranking of the 50 fastest-growing technology companies in the area. The Fast 50 program ranks New Englands fastest-growing technology companies based on five-year revenue growth. The program is co-sponsored by the professional services firm of Deloitte & Touche and the law firm of Hale and Dorr LLP, in association with Mass High Tech, the Journal of New England Technology. The ranking of the finalists will be revealed at a gala celebration on September 13th.
Basis Technologys president and CEO, Carl Hoffman, credits the rapidly expanding Asian marketplace with the companys revenue growth over the past five years. Online usage throughout the Asia-Pacific region is now growing at a faster rate than at home, opening up entirely new markets to American e-businesses, Hoffman remarked. Weve established a significant track record of helping technology leaders such as Amazon.com, Critical Path, Homestead, Lycos, and Mail.com overcome the challenges of reaching the global Internet.
Relative to the rest of the country, the New England Technology Fast 50 is an extremely competitive program. Our region has more than its share of great minds leading great companies, which makes this recognition exceptionally significant, said Stephen DiPietro, Co-chairman of the 2000 New England Technology Fast 50 Program, Deloitte & Touche.
William Lee, Managing Partner of Hale and Dorr and Co-chairman of the program adds, Each year, it becomes more difficult to achieve recognition in the technology field. On behalf of Hale and Dorr, I congratulate Basis Technology for its innovation and its success, and for joining the prestigious ranks of the 2000 Technology Fast 50.
To qualify for the Fast 50, a company must have been in business a minimum of five years, with 1995 operating revenue of at least $50,000 and 1999 operating revenue of at least $1 million.
