2012 Open Source Digital Forensics Conference

The 3rd Annual Sleuth Kit and Open Source Digital Forensics Conference will be held from October 2 to October 4, 2012 in Chantilly, VA. Each day of the conference has a different goal:

  • October 2: Tutorials that provide hands-on workshops on using open source tools.
  • October 3: Talks at the main conference that focus on showcasing open source tools that can help investigators get their job done. Talks will be given by both users and developers of tools.
  • October 4: Hackathon that enables developers to build Sleuth Kit or Autopsy modules and reach a wider audience.

This year’s conference will be held at the Westfields Marriott hotel. Discount hotel rooms are available. Brian Carrier (author of The Sleuth Kit) is the conference chair.
